HISTORICAL Oregon Wineries

Serendipity Cellars Winery

Glen and Cheryl Longshore learned their wine making skills from Myron Redford at Amity Vineyards. Instead of following conventional wisdom of planting the “right grapes”, and making “popular” wines they experimented with lesser known varieties and developed a niche market for their wines.

A three acre vineyard was planted in 1980 and winery bonded 1981. Marechal Foch and Muller-Thurgau were flagship wines. Chenin Blanc and Zinfandel were also popular.

Serendipity Cellars had its final harvest in 1999 and stopped selling wine in 2001. The winery was located at 15275 Dunn Forest Road, Monmouth, OR.
